She's here!!!!

And life has not slowed down one bit! Hopefully a full update soon, but on Oct 23rd our family welcomed little Adeline Grace. We are all madly in love.

Carter has been learning a lot at daycare. One day when I figure out how to upload a video I will share her please and more video. Super cute!

I wanted to post this story before I forgot, we already new Carter was very food motivated, but this clinched it!

Apparently it was someone's birthday at daycare last week and the mom brought in cupcakes. Carter woke up early from her nap and saw them. She got very excited! But, her great teachers told her she needed to wait for the rest of the class and snack time. Even though Carter did her great "ooh, wow!" voice! I gotta get that on film soon.

Anyway, all Carter heard was snack time and she immediately got to work setting up the chairs around the table and then sat down to wait! How cute is she! Getting everything ready, sitting at the table, I can just see her swinging her little legs, chin in her hands, waiting...for the kids to get up already...so we can have CUPCAKES!

Love her! She is going to be a great big sister.

Fall is here!

And one week from today is Carter's last day as an only child. I don't think she has any idea what's about to happen. I hope everyone is ok. I am gonna miss my munchkin while we are easing the new one into the world. I hope I am ok! The hubby and I are taking advantage of all the last minute date nights we can.

Still growing

It seems like leaps and bounds these days. And only a couple of weeks till she is officially a big sister. She is definitely going to grow up too fast for me.

Isn't it amazing how much a new hair style can change a kid! How grown up are those pig tails!!! And, her first bounce house. I think she loved it!

Her first crush

Our next door neighbors are amazing! And they have two sons who are also amazing. Their youngest is the object of my daughters affection. He is over a decade older, but he is teaching her to throw the football. And she adores him!

Date night

We love when grandma comes to town! Date night was great (even if the picture wasn't), thank you!!!

We only have about 4 weeks left so we are trying to squeeze in as many adult nights as possible.

So busy!

We have been living it up lately! So busy this month.
Plane rides, boating, Downtown Parkville parades, plane rides, hiking, generally goofing off. Good thing we have pictures!

Lake house and...

RAIN! Boo!

We spent a great 5 day weekend with friends at their lake house. We packed multiple suits and tons of sunscreen, water toys, life vests, water shoes, etc. We spent the entire weekend in rain jackets, galoshes, and sweaters. It was still a great relaxing weekend. We got 1 good boat pic, Carter had lots of firsts. First feet in the sand, first boat ride, first horse petting, it was just like summer camp (only w/ mom and dad). It was great. We had amazing meals in the evenings and some great family time. Overall, a much needed rest.

Conspiracy

So we have been trying to explain to my almost 14 month old that she is getting a little sister. I point to my belly, tell her there is a baby and sometimes she talks to my belly. I thought it was really cute.

Turns out, the sisters are conspiring already. Our first was breech, which resulted in a mandatory C-section. I was not happy about it and the recovery was awful. I have been planning a VBAC for our second. We just had an ultrasound at about 28 weeks.

She's backwards. (for a baby). I think the sisters have been talking. They are clearly against me. No more belly talk.

I miss her so much. I have been missing her for over a week now. I can't wait to see you tomorrow little one! Until then, the pics from your daddy help.

She's started taking a few steps between objects, not just people. But still not much interest in taking off. Crawling still seems preferable and she seems to have my balance, not her dad's. Poor kid! Still this stage is so fun, I love how happy she is when she reaches her goal. I wouldn't trade those hugs for anything!

I am hoping the little one cooking is not shy. As long as he/she cooperates, we should be able to find out today if Carter will be getting a little brother or a little sister. What to hope for...diversity? Or getting to recycle clothes? Hmmm, guess we will find out soon. :-)

Owies

Walking is just around the corner and apparently that comes with lots of bruises. I try to balance between safety and letting her learn her way around. Apparently the coffee table had other ideas. This one actually got her on the way up!

Umbrella anyone?

It just showed up. Our grass has been looking greener...maybe it just wanted to see the other side. Unfortunately we already have two, I don't think we can keep it.

All grown up

It's official. My baby will be one in just a few weeks. She is almost walking. She is playing independently. She is holding her own cup (sometimes). And she no longer wants to take a nap with mommy!

I may need to grieve a little over this one. I loved our snuggle time! I loved waking up with the little sweat box from a great nap after work. I loved forced relaxation time! I miss her and our time.

I love seeing the person she is becoming.

Hard work

Writing a blog is hard work, there are many out there that I admire. I know they put in a lot of time and energy and many have busier schedules than I do. I started this blog in an effort to keep tabs on my rapidly growing baby, who will be one in almost a month! I have not done a good job so far and we have another on the way. My hope is that my oldest will appreciate all her undivided mommy time and my second will feel well documented! (which would mean I would finally have this blog thing figured out.)
